Middle School Basketball Manor 8A girls win behind Dupont triple-double

Kyla Dupont recorded a triple-double with 11 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds to lead Manor’s eighth-grade ‘A’ team to a 50-23 victory over Audie Murphy on Wednesday.

Manesha Knox added eight points and two blocks. Des’ree Brown had nine points.

Manor’s eighth-graders take on Smith this week.

SMITH 8A 40, NOLAN 8A 18: At Nolan, Alia Vines scored 10 points for the defeated Lady Mustangs in their home finale.

Dominique Buford, Tamiah Dowdell, Hillary Henyo and Shayla Williams each added two points.

Henyo, Vines and Williams each had three offensive rebounds. Nolan finished with 13 steals, led by Henyo’s three. Dowdell added four defensive rebounds. Henyo grabbed three. Other Nolan standouts were Ivana Kombet-Odango, Katrina McMillin, Tatum Knox and Maria Vielma.

PATTERSON 8A 37, UNION GROVE 8A 9: Kaleiyah Davis led a balanced scoring attack with nine points in the Lady Cavaliers victory.

Other scorers for Patterson were Breonna Fleming (eight points), Sydney Brock (six), Devany Wall (five), Daija Planas (four), Cici McClain and Jayona Jennings (two each) and Niah Tennant (one).

The Patterson eighth-graders host Liberty Hill on Wednesday.

PATERSON 8B 31, UNION GROVE 8B 5: Jessica Fennell tossed in nine points and Geordan Blanchard added eight in the Lady Cavaliers victory.

Other scorers for Patterson were Madison Charles-Walters (four points) and Siyanna Carney, Evelyn Latau, Ceana Robertson, Monica Cottrell and Lilly Dickerson (two each).

MANOR 8B 38, AUDIE MURPHY 8B 15: Angel Merriweather scored 15 points to lead Manor to a win.

Other scorers for Manor were Jakayla Dudley (nine points) and Tamia Alvarez (six).

PATTERSON 7A 35, UNION GROVE 7A 23: Amani Bradshaw and Meleanna Williams each scored 10 points to lead the Lady Cavaliers to a win.

Other scorers for Patterson were Dariona Levy and Jasmine Carson (four points each), Cierra Penn (three) and Alanna Howard and Wanjiru Randolph (two each).

The Patterson seventh-graders travel to Liberty Hill on Wednesday.

MANOR 7A 22, AUDIE MURPHY 7A 7: Kazia Jones scored 10 points in Manor’s victory.

Other scorers for Manor were Kayla Beechum and Chardeidra Madison (four points each) and Cassandra Latelers and Duha Kesbeh (two each).

PATTERSON 7B 36, UNION GROVE 7B 8: Jalecia McGee led the Lady Cavaliers to a victory with 14 points.

Other scorers for Patterson were Janai Oakley (six points), Makyla Peak (four) and Khya Gray, Chantelle Cancel, Danaisha Poole, Natalia Goodman, Adelina Cazares and Asia Sanders (two each).

MANOR 7B 16, AUDIE MURPHY 7B 9: Celeste Esquivel scored six points to lead Manor to a victory.

Other scorers for Manor were Tashayla Brooks and Soleah Staves (four points each) and Soraya Fong (two).


PATTERSON 7A 35, SMITH 7A 22: Amir Davis scored 10 points to lead the Cavaliers to the championship of the Killeen ISD Invitational in a rematch with the Leopards.

Smith jumped out on the Cavs with pressure and took an early lead, but Patterson stayed focused to take the lead and hold on to it the rest of the way.

Other scorers for Patterson were Chandler Sutton (eight points), Damon Hewing (five) and Elijah Hicks, Justice Lincoln and Elwyn Rose (four each).

PATTERSON 7A 36, TEMPLE TRAVIS 7A 22: Chandler Sutton scored 16 points to lead the Cavaliers to a victory in the semifinals of the Killeen ISD Invitational.

Other scorers for Patterson were Amir Davis (seven points), Damon Hewing (six), Devan Thomas, Justice Lincoln and Jalen Clarke (two each) and Javier Molina-Oquendo (one).

RANCIER 7A 37, NOLAN 7A 30: The Ka-Roos rallied from a halftime deficit to beat the Mustangs.

Ricardo-Lewis Rivera led Nolan with 11 points, including a pair of fourth-quarter 3-pointers to help the Mustangs stay within striking distance.

Other contributors for Nolan were Trelon Saddler (six points), Janhanselor Curry (five points, seven rebounds), Dvaugh Kent and Jaylin Eddie (three points each) and Brian Jessamy.

PATTERSON 8A 47, TEMPLE LAMAR 8A 44: Jakari Thomas scored 19 points to lead the Cavaliers to a victory in the Killeen ISD Invitational.

Other scorers for Patterson were Maurice Berry (13 points), Xavier Wilson and Jose Serrano (six each) and Dequan Ryan (two).

NOLAN 8A 38, PATTERSON 8A 24: The Cavaliers played their best basketball of the season for three quarters, but came up short against Nolan in their final game of the Killeen ISD Invitational.

Xavier Wilson led Patterson with seven points. Other scorers were Maurice Wilson and Jakari Thomas (five each), Ka’Rahn Salter (four) and Avante Bell (three).
