FORT HOOD — Kayla McFall carded a nine-hole score of 63 to lead the Patterson Middle School girls golf team to another victory Monday at The Courses of Clear Creek.

Other scorers for the Lady Cavaliers were Madison Charles-Walters (63), Lilly Dickerson (66), Caitlin Horton (68), Amie Cornileus (69) and Gabrielle Wilbanks (72).

McFall finished second individually. Charles-Walters was third.

The Patterson boys were third, just three strokes behind the runner-up.

Reid Walinder, Oliver Mintz and Herimanuel Capeles each shot 61s to lead the Cavaliers.

Other scorers were Donovan Aki (64), Christian Larson (69), Kevin McCoid (69), Alfredo Tabulina (69), Dalton Tramp (70), Oscar Beausoleil (70) and Jaysian Tyson (72).

Palo Alto boys win at Deer Run

Deshaun Young shot 58 on the nine-hole Deer Run course at The Courses of Clear Creek to lead to Palo Alto boys golf team to a victory.

The Patriots finished with a team score of 243.

Other scorers for Palo Alto were William Hooper (59), Isaiah Morua (59) and Arvin Jones (67).

Young placed third individually.

The Killeen ISD middle school golf tournament will be Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Stonetree Golf Club.

Liberty Hill’s Trujillo wins for second time

Liberty Hill golfer Isabella Trujillo finished with a round of 60 Monday to pick up her second win of the season.

She finished two shots ahead of the field.

The Liberty Hill boys shot a 247 to finish second in the team standings, led by tourney winner Jai Patel, who carded a 52 to win by seven shots.

The Lions’ score was 29 strokes better than their previous tournament.

Other scorers for Liberty Hill were Tavon Gwynn (61), Kris Eads (65), Jorge Rodriguez (69) and Taylor Giese (71).


The Palo Alto 7B boys soccer team was back in action May 7. The team fought hard, but came up short against Patterson’s seventh-grade ‘A’ team.

The Palo Alto defense was anchored with great play from Jalen Thompson and Kai Keller while Jaden Galdamez played a great game in the midfield.

The Palo Alto ‘A’ team picked up another victory against Smith’s A-team.

Ne’Andre Wilson and Amara Dukuly led the scoring for the Patriots.

Wilson had a hat trick, giving him six goals in two games.

Dukuly added two goals, giving him five in two games.

The midfield was led by Manuel Mendoza.

The defense was anchored by Bradley Warner and Tyr Johnson.
