Elianah Eady-Smith led three Live Oak Ridge seventh-grade A-team Lady Lobos in double figures with 16 points Wednesday in a season-opening 48-4 win at Smith.

Alexia Hollings-Westmoreland added 14 points, and Jalon Jones had 10. Kafaniah Douglas finished with six. Deyonah Owens had two. Alexis Burgess was a defensive standout.

LIBERTY HILL 7A DEF. UNION GROVE 7A: Keyonna Otis and Saniyah Johnson each scored four points to lead the defeated Grizzlies.

Other scorers for Union Grove were Nakayla Burks (three points) and Kaley Lelauti and Mariah Cisnero (two each).

PATTERSON 7A 31, PALO ALTO 7A 2: DeYanna Reed had eight points and six steals to lead the Lady Cavaliers to a season-opening victory.

Patterson made 15 steals in the first half and raced to a 21-2 lead.

Other contributors for the Lady Cavs were Neveah Barnes (six points, three steals), Elizabeth Eakin and Tiana St. Cyr (four points and two steals each), Kania Prichett (three points, five steals), Trinity Lewis (two points, four steals), Ja’Liz Simmons and Kera Harvey (two points and three steals each) and Natalie Robinson (two steals).

Myeisha Holman scored in the first quarter for Palo Alto. She was also a defensive standout along with Stephanie Gabriel, Lakyia Wilson and Aniyah Harrison.

PATTERSON 7B 21, PALO ALTO 7A 2: Lanijah Ballard scored eight points to lead the Lady Cavaliers to a victory in their season opener.

Other scorers for Patterson were Jasmine Martin (four points), Tierra Prust, Heaven Chappell, Kali Clay and Amiya Trotter (two each) and Haliegh Pointer (one).

Yanielys Romero made two free throws in the second quarter for Palo Alto and was a defensive standout along with Shalimark Braddy, Anastayzia DeAcros-Salinas and Kamea Mincey.

LIVE OAK RIDGE 7B 30, SMITH 7B 11: Joslyn Estell scored 14 points and the Lady Lobos opened the season with a victory at Smith.

Other scorers for Live Oak Ridge were Jeremiah Cambric (10 points) and Brianna Sanders and Tenique Williams (two each).

Dallas Cross, Allah Prescott, Jaliyah Chapman and Micha Brooks were defensive standouts.

LIBERTY HILL 8A DEF. UNION GROVE 8A: Samiyah Walker led the defeated Grizzlies with 17 points.

Other scorers for Union Grove were Olivia Sullens (nine points), Mary Allen (six) and Jocelyn Deaton (two).

Union Grove hosts Palo Alto on Monday.

SMITH 8A 34, LIVE OAK RIDGE 8A 10: Michelle Okeowo scored 11 points in the Lady Leopards’ season-opening win.

Other scorers for Smith were Taylor Lewis (nine points), Autumn Baker (four) and Aaliyah Davis, Saniya Woodberry and J’Naija Gould (two each).

Smith’s eighth-graders travel to Patterson on Monday.

PATTERSON 8A 49, PALO ALTO 8A 24: Evelyn Lorenzo tallied 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in a season-opening win for the Lady Cavaliers.

Kaisy Cochran and Ichani Norman also scored 11 points each while collecting two assists and two steals.

Other contributors for Patterson were Kira Bass (six points, four rebounds and three assists), Lauren Thomas (six points, seven rebounds and 3 steals), Natajha Jenkins and

Angel Myles (four points each), Naudia Vasquez (two points, two assists), Aubryana Watson (two points) and Mia Sias and J’Nay Prichett.

The eighth-grade Lady Cavs host Smith on Monday.

Keenan Walker and De’Andre Jones each had two steals. Jalynn Robinson recorded three assists. Caleob Houston led Smith with five rebounds, and Darius Steverson had four.

UNION GROVE 7B 27, LIBERTY HILL 7B 25: Charles Williams had six points and seven rebounds to lead the Grizzlies to a win in their season opener.

PATTERSON 8A 36, PALO ALTO 8A 13: Elias Santiago scored 11 points and the Cavaliers opened the game with a 10-1 run on the way to a season-opening win.

Other scorers for Patterson were Emmanuel Kenyi (nine points), Reggie Barlow and Breon Williams (five each), Domingo Ortego (four) and Chris Campbell (two).

Antwone Gonzalez led Palo Alto with eight points. Other scorers for the Patriots were Devean Marshall (three points) and Elijah Pettus and Lamar Cody (one each).

The Patriots did manage to shut out Patterson in the fourth quarter.

The eighth-grade Cavaliers travel to Smith on Monday. Palo Alto will host Union Grove.

LIBERTY HILL 8A 53, UNION GROVE 8A 19: Uriyah Evans scored 13 points and the Lions erupted for 22 points in the third quarter on the way to a win in their season opener.

Other scorers for Liberty Hill were Terrance Carter (12 points), Iv’rson Lavizzo (eight), Josiah Escoffery (seven), Marcus Maple (five) and Malyke Whitted and Nehemiah Costley (four each).

The eighth-grade Lions face Live Oak Ridge on Dec. 14.

Domonique Williams added 10 points and six rebounds. SMITH 8B DEF. LIVE OAK RIDGE 8B: Freddy Murphy scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Leopards to a season-opening win at home.

Devine Helvetius added 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Smith. Quintin Black and Arron Jones each had six points.

PATTERSON 8B 29, PALO ALTO 8B 22: Willie Hall and Jamal Williams each scored seven points and the Cavaliers rallied in the fourth quarter for a season-opening victory.

Other scorers for Patterson were Antonio Jones (six points), Zaylin Blackwood (four), Collins Akpablie (three) and Jorien Young (two).

Latavis Williams led Palo Alto with eight points. The Patriots led 12-11 at halftime.

LIBERTY HILL 8B 33, UNION GROVE 8B 25: Tyrell Winston scored nine points in the Lions’ season-opening win.

Other scorers for Liberty Hill were Eric Moore and David Lanxon (six points each), Anthony Millender (five), RJ Rogers (four) and Malachi Seawood (three).

Clements basketball registration continues

Registration for Clements Boys & Girls Club basketball continues through Dec. 15.

The league is open to all second- through sixth-graders. Registration times are Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Clements Boys & Girls Club at 5100 Trimmier Road.

Registration requires a 2018 club membership ($20), a $55 participation fee, proof of residency and proof of age. Players must attend a Killeen ISD school or live within KISD attendance boundaries.

Eligible players for the 2nd Grade league have not turned age 9 before Sept. 1. Players for the 3/4 Grade league have not turned age 11 before Sept. 1, and players for the 5/6 Grade league have not turned 13 before Sept. 1.

Registration is not complete until all registration requirements are met. Anyone wishing to coach or sponsor a team should call the club at 634-0308, ext. 102 for more information.
