Jamyron Keller led a balanced Liberty Hill seventh-grade A-team offensive attack with 15 points and the Lions improved to 3-1 with a 50-33 victory over Eastern Hills on Thursday.
Liberty Hill led 28-16 at halftime.
Other scorers for the Lions were Ryan Allen and Gabriel Ramirez (nine points each), Shawn Timmons (eight), Jy’juan Eskridge (five) and Jeremiah Jones (four). Daniel Lanxon was a defensive standout.
The seventh-grade Lions return to action Thursday when they host Palo Alto for their second conference game.
SMITH 7A 47, PALO ALTO 7A 20: Jadarius Murphy grabbed 19 rebounds to help the Leopards win their conference opener.
Other contributors for Smith (3-1) were Marvinus Phillip (10 rebounds, five steals), Deion Ware (four assists, four steals), Pablo Picacio (three rebounds, three steals) and Jamarius Stewart (three steals).
The Patriots lost despite scoring a season-high. They were led by Alexander Angulo, Nickolus Caldwell, Jadarius Hopkins and Demontre Chapman.
Smith’s seventh-graders travel to Nolan on Thursday.
SMITH 7B 37, PALO ALTO 7B 18: Kaunye Jones led the Leopards with six steals and six assists and Smith remained unbeaten.
Caleob Houston and Darius Steverson each had six rebounds for the Leopards (3-0).
The Patriots got a spark from Jad’N Shaw’s buzzer-beater at halftime. Other contributors for Palo Alto were Miguel Farias-Romero, Javon Hamlin and Ethan Welsher.
LIBERTY HILL 7B 30, EASTERN HILLS 7B 12: Malachi Everson scored 10 points and the Lions outscored the Panthers 19-5 in the second half to even their record at 2-2.
Other scorers for Liberty Hill were Reggie Randall (nine points), Robert Fortson (four) Janiel Colon-Rodriguez (three) and King White and Di’Aireion Littlejohn (two each). Brendan Ortega was a defensive standout.
MANOR 8B 49, NOLAN 8B 28: At Nolan, Jorge Morales, Damarrion Jones and Timothy Thompson each scored six points to lead the defeated Mustangs.
Erik Garcia, Xander Rivera, Daniel Adams, Marcus Runner and Bairo Velasco contributed two points each.
NOLAN 8A 48, MANOR 8A 26: At Nolan, Devonte Tezino dominated in the paint with 13 points, eight rebounds and six blocks in the Mustangs’ victory.
Jose Rivera directed the Nolan offense and finished with 11 points and five assists. Other contributors were Dartrell Wilson (seven points, seven rebounds), Kenterrius Johnson (nine points), Jalen Bell (four points), Elijah Armour (two points and five rebounds), Kyler Villalba (two points, three assists) and Javier Corral (four rebounds).
The eighth-grade Mustangs will travel to Smith next week.
PATTERSON 8A 52, RANCIER 8A 38: At Rancier, Albert Powell led the defeated Karoos with 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.

RANCIER 8B 28, PATTERSON 8B 22: At Rancier, Shamareik Johnson had 12 points and four steals, and the Karoos rebounded from a scoreless first quarter and rallied in the second half to take the victory.

PATTERSON 8A 51, RANCIER 8A 17: Evelyn Lorenzo scored 13 points and the Lady Cavaliers cruised to a win in their conference opener.

PATTERSON 8B SCRIMMAGE: The Lady Cavaliers did not have an 8B opponent this week, so they played an intrasquad game.
Capreil Joseph had eight points and three rebounds. Aubryana Watson scored seven points. Joy Davis, Mikaylah Perez and Myaevia Debose each had six points. Courtney Geiselman also had six points to go with three rebounds.
Anniyah Johnson and Serenity Pasley each had four points. Alaysia Davis scored two.
NOLAN 7A 29, MANOR 7A 24: At Nolan, Leilani Manefaiega scored 14 points to lead the defeated Lady Rams.

Smith trailed 9-6 at halftime but scored 12 points in the third quarter while shutting out the Lady Patriots.
Kelis Turner added six points for Smith. Jordan Washington finished with four points and nine rebounds. Kendall Bean contributed four steals, four rebounds and two points. Victoria Robles scored two points. Lauryn Kendrick and Anayah Tavares were defensive standouts.

LIVE OAK RIDGE 7A 41, AUDIE MURPHY 7A 16: Alexia Hollings-Westmoreland scored 16 points and the Lady Lobos took control in the second quarter en route to a victory.
