The Eastern Hills seventh-grade A-team Panthers scored two quick touchdowns and went on to beat Liberty Hill 27-7 in a Killeen ISD middle school semifinal game Monday night at Leo Buckley Stadium.

Eastern Hills tacked on another score to take a 20-0 lead at the half.

Devyne Williams connected with Dorian Black in the fourth quarter for the Lions’ only score. The play covered 60 yards.

Jalin Dillard tacked on the one-point conversion with a pass from Williams.

With the loss, the Lions ended their season with a 4-2 record.

Other offensive standouts for Liberty Hill were Tamoi Williams and Chris Han.

Leading the Lions defense were Chapman Rowe, Dillard, Thian Pate (fumble recovery), Black (forced fumble), Alex Rivera and Michael Adams.


The Copperas Cove Junior High Lady Bullpups played Temple Lamar on Monday in their last road trip of the season and took three of four matches.

The seventh grade B team dominated the Lady Bearcats, winning 25-14, 25-21. They had great communication and played well in transitions on the court. Mary Mennor was tabbed player of the game.

The 7A team came out with another win, 25-5, 25-11, led byAidan Chace’s five aces and seven kills.

The 8B team dominated early, but couldn’t hold on and lost in three games, 15-25, 26-24, 25-20. Armani Garcia was named player of the game for stepping up as a setter and for an excellent back-row hit.

The 8A team played an outstanding game against Lamar. The girls came out strong with the mindset they were going to win and they did exactly that, 25-12, 25-18.

Daysha Barnes had two kills and a block. Addie Cook had an 11-point serving streak which included three aces.
