Patterson’s Zavion Tibbs ran for four touchdowns and the Cavalier defense recorded its third straight shutout, 34-0, against Nolan in a seventh-grade A-team game Tuesday.
Steve Albert returned an interception for a touchdown. Matthew Moore also had an interception and forced a fumble. James Rowell had four tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. Jaden Miles forced a fumble, Javier Smith recovered a fumble and Tyler Gaines recorded a sack.
Zy’Aire King aided Tibbs in the running game.
Dewayne Allen, Irving Fuentes, and Kenneth Breaux were the leading tacklers for the defeated Mustangs. Marquise Collins had a 60-yard run, but was tackled just short of the goal line.
LIBERTY HILL 7A 21, LIVE OAK RIDGE 7A 0: Key’Won Calhoun scored on a long run to start the Lions on the way to their first victory.
Jamyron Keller added the extra point.
MANOR 7A 13, UNION GROVE 7A 12: Aimeer Washington scored both touchdowns for the defeated Grizzlies. He also made five tackles and forced a fumble
Other offensive standouts for Union Grove were Re’Shaun Sanford (60-yard kickoff return), Deaubry Hood, Ashton Wilson and Marcus McMillan.
De’Anthony Cathey had three tackles and forced a fumble.
RANCIER 7A 2, AUDIE MURPHY 7A 0: At Audie Murphy, Jayden Wilson-Robinson and Robert Harding powered into the Audie Murphy backfield for a last-minute safety as the Karoos won a defensive battle.
Wilson-Robinson had earlier gained 65 yards on a pair of runs to put Rancier (2-1) in scoring position, but the Falcons (0-3) stuffed the Karoos and regained possession.
Moments later, Rancier’s Damarion Huey blitzed and busted up a play that left the Falcons with their backs on the goal line, setting up the game-winning safety.
NOLAN 7B 0, PATTERSON 7B 0, TIE: At Patterson, Jonathan Jeune had two sacks and a fumble recovery for Nolan. Gearon Wideman and Juan Trujillo also had two sacks, and Gordon Whang recovered a fumble.
The offensive highlight for the Mustangs was a 35-yard pass from quarterback Marcellus Jackson to Demoriea Granger.
Elijah Castillo and Tyriq Jones had long interception returns for Patterson. Jovan Smith had three tackles for loss. He also forced and recovered a fumble Tysahon Brown also forced a fumble.
Bobby Williams and Emory Watson were offensive standouts.
RANCIER 7B 37, AUDIE MURPHY 7B 0: At Audie Murphy, Ma’Kye Walker and Josiah Hale each scored twice and the Karoos stormed to a victory.
After a scoreless first quarter in which Rancier’s Logan Frishman, Ma’alik Walker and Joseph Lomas each recovered fumbles, Karoos quarterback Nathan Stonecipher scrambled 28 yards for the first points. Stonecipher also tossed a 33-yard touchdown pass to Tramari Randles to give Rancier (2-0-1) a 19-0 halftime lead.
Ma’Kye Walker scored on a 6-yard run in the second half and returned an interception for another touchdown.
Jennifer Hernandez and Randles each had sacks to lead the Rancier defense.
UNION GROVE 7B 14, MANOR 7B 12: Frank Jones ran and passed for a touchdown as the Grizzlies edged the Rams.
Amaree Head caught a 30-yard TD pass.
Juan Carrillo, Tahid Lloyd, Jett Millsap, Jeremiah Owens, Jaleel Weaver, Charles Williams, Kevin Ro and Haris Shaikh each had three tackles for the Union Grove defense. Rigoverto Medina, Corey Evans Gaige Shoop each had a sack.
Tahid Lloyd and Joe Lane combined for 80 yards rushing.
LIBERTY HILL 7B 19, LIVE OAK RIDGE 7B 6: Trent Ward scored twice and the Lions came up with three turnovers to beat the Lobos and even their record a 1-1.
Ward opened the scoring by taking an end-around for 20 yards and the Lions led 6-0 at halftime.
Liberty Hill added to that tally on the opening possession of the second half as Reggie Randle hauled in a 55-yard pass from Dylan Thomas.
Robert Lopez and Camron Jackson recovered fumbles for the Lions. D’Montez Rogers had an interception.
PATTERSON 8A 20, NOLAN 8A 0: At Nolan, three different Cavaliers scored touchdowns and Patterson forced six turnovers in their victory.
Allen Knight and Elijah Harris ran for touchdowns, and Antonio Jones caught a touchdown pass from Breon Williams.
Other offensive standouts were Jarian Green, Noah Dooley, Gavyn Keyser, Amir Soliman and Avery Stemmons.
Mousa Dassama had an interception. Jayden Rudd, Delon Lindsey and Marquis Valentine all forced fumbles, and Rudd recovered one.
It was a close battle in the third quarter until Marquis Valentine returned a punt nearly 60 yards to give the Cavs a momentum boost.
UNION GROVE 8A 20, MANOR 8A 0: Ryan McKenzie tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Darius Wilson and the Grizzly defense pitched a shutout.
David Ro also scored for Union Grove. Nathan Slebo added a 2-point PAT. Cesar Carillo had an interception.
LIBERTY HILL 8A 32, LIVE OAK RIDGE 8A 0: Donavyn Jones scored on a 10-yard run, starting a 20-point first-quarter blitz in the Lions victory.
It didn’t take long for the Lions to return to the end zone. They forced a punt and Marcus Maple returned it 57 yards for a score. Nehemiah Costley capped the big opening period with a 76-yard touchdown run. Malyke Whitted scored two PATs.
Terrance Carter scored from 76 yards out at the start of the third quarter to put the Lions (2-0) up 32-0.
UNION GROVE 8B 19, MANOR 8B 0: Damian Mora scored twice and the Grizzlies blanked the Rams.
Tyshon Jammar also scored for Union Grove.
Thomas Green intercepted a Manor pass.
NOLAN 8B 12, PATTERSON 8B 0: At Nolan, Zaylin Blackwood, Jamal Williams and Peyton Harris led the offense for the defeated Cavaliers. Josh Cooper was a defensive standout.
LIBERTY HILL 8B 19, LIVE OAK RIDGE 8B 0: U’Riyah Evans opened the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and the Lions improved to 2-0.
Robert Foster added a 17-yard TD run in the fourth quarter, and the Lions put the game away when Davion Washington’s sack led to a fumbled lateral that Kalani-Koa Green caught and returned for a 40-yard score.
Anthony Millender and Evans hooked up for a PAT pass.
PATTERSON 8A DEF. NOLAN 8A 25-5, 25-15: Ichani Norman dominated at the net with four kills, two blocks, two assists and an ace in the second set of the Lady Cavaliers’ sweep.

UNION GROVE WINS 7A TITLE: Kaley Lelauti served 41 total points as the Grizzlies won the championship on Saturday
Union Grove beat Manor 25-3, 25-21 for the title.
The Grizzlies opened the tournament Thursday with a 25-6, 25-13 win over Nolan. On Saturday, they topped Smith (25-23, 25-10) and Temple Bonham (25-3, 25-3) to reach the final.
Other scorers in the tourney for Union Grove were Sakoya Lopez (32 points), Brooke Ross (22), Alicia Mora (13), Faryn Morris (12), Jaliah Evans (10), Keona Otis (nine), Gloria Iosefo (six), Olivia Milliner (four) and Nykaela Burks (two). Alyssa Cruz also contributed.
PATTERSON 7A GOES 1-2: The Lady Cavaliers opened Saturday play with a 25-14, 25-18 loss to Manor. Patterson rebounded with a 25-11, 20-25, 15-4 win over Rancier before losing to Temple Lamar 25-23, 25-20.
Tournament leaders for the Lady Cavs were Deshonay Merchant (six kills, six blocks, 28 assists, 32 serves, six aces and four digs), Elizabeth Eakin (six kills, two assists, 17 serves, three aces), Trinity Lewis (kill, seven assists, 18 serves, two aces), Tiana St. Cyr (two kills, four blocks, 18 assists, 18 serves, five aces, two digs), Ja’Liz Simmons (three blocks, 12 assists, two serves, one ace, two digs), Aryanna Ramos (six serves and two digs) and Bethany Kirkland (two kills, two blocks).
NOLAN 8A DEF. UNION GROVE 8A 15-25, 28-26, 15-4: Ka’Tesha Lewis served 10 points to help the Lady Mustangs rally for a first-round victory.
Anastazia Hentz and libero Kiareylis Landrau-Santiago added nine points each. Alyssa Gomez had four. Landrau-Santiago also had 10 digs.
McKenzie Mansell led Union Grove with 11 points. Other scorers for the Grizzlies were Mary Allen (10 points), Temiya Johnson (eight), Alexandria Cloud (three) and Rozalyn Simmons (two). Johnson and Alexandria Cloud each had two kills.
SMITH 8A WINS IN FIRST ROUND: Kylarr Martin served 10 points in the Lady Leopards victory. Leann Edmond added eight points.
UNION GROVE 8A DEF. TEMPLE LAMAR 8A 25-16, 19-25, 15-11: At Ellison High School, Mary Allen had four kills and served nine points as the Grizzlies bounced back from an opening-round loss.
Aryanna Martin added 10 points. Other contributors were Alexandria Cloud (three kills, six points), Temiya Johnson (two kills, four points) and Jasmine Johnson (four points),.
UNION GROVE 8A DEF. MANOR 8A 25-15, 13-25, 15-8: Alexandria Cloud served 12 points and the Grizzlies outlasted the Lady Rams in bracket play.
Other scorers for Union Grove were Mary Allen and Rozalyn Simmons (five points each), Aryanna Martin (four), Jasmine Johnson (two) and Temiya Johnson (1). Evan Fuller, Allen and Temiya Johnson each had kills.
Union Grove seventh-grader Dayne Holden earned a second-place finish in the first-ever Killeen ISD middle school meet on Sept. 16.
Holden finished with a time of 13 minutes and 46 seconds to help the Grizzlies finish second in the team standings. Other runners for Union Grove were Jesus Molina (sixth, 14:35), Michael Garrison (seventh, 14:36), Michael Griffin (ninth, 14:54), Chance Heck (15:50), Malik Devine (16:35) and William Eversley (19:17).
Derek Morales led the eighth-grade Grizzlies with a time of 15:35. Also running were Christopher McMillan (15:36) and Cesar Carillo (16:22).
Union Grove’s seventh-grade girls won their division, led by Elizabeth Porr’s second-place finish of 14:50. Other runners for the Grizzlies were Jocileen Carrell-Soto (fifth, 15:10), Sarah Galvan (ninth, 16:06), Natalie Ingeloff (10th, 16:47), Katherine Zmijski (18:23), Aniyah Williams (18:23) and Alexa Taylor (18:28).
The eighth-grade girls placed second. Olivia Sullens led the way with a runner-up finish of 14:34. Teammate Grace Lawhorn took third at 15:06. Other Grizzlies were Evi Miller-Romero (eighth, 16:25), Mikaela Igou (17:35), Hope Greene (19:15) and Lauryn Jordan (21:29).
GRIZZLIES WIN ELLISON MEET: Holden finished third in 13:39 to help Union Grove’s seventh-grade boys win the Eagle Run Invitational at Ellison High School.
Also running for the Grizzlies were Garrison (sixth, 14:37), Molina (seventh, 14:38), Griffin (12th, 15:27), Devin (14th, 16:01), Heck (16th, 16:13) and Eversley (18:43).
Morales led the eighth-grade Grizzlies with a 16:13 finish. Cesar Carillo clocked a 16:28.
The seventh-grade girls also won the meet. Elizabeth Porr (15:00), Jocileen Carrell-Soto (17:52) and Sarah Galvan (16:27) finished third, fourth and seventh, respectively.
Other UGMS runners were Natalie Ingeloff (17:49), Alexa Taylor (17:52), Katherine Zmijski (18:58) and Aniyah Williams (19:54).
Olivia Sullens (14:58) and Grace Lawhorn (15:30) led the eighth-grade girls with second- and third-place finishes. Other runners were Evi Miller-Romero (17:51), Mikaela Igou (17:59) and Hope Greene (18:12).
The eighth-grade team finished second overall.
SALADO JV GIRLS PLACE 4TH: The Salado junior varsity girls team finished fourth in its own meet Oct. 21 at Tenroc Ranch.
Avery Wright placed 14th with a time of 16:13 to lead Salado. Other Lady Eagle runners were Erin McBryde (19th, 16:30), Grace Graham (27th, 16:45), Lily Lougheed (34th, 17:07), Rachael Jett (46th, 17:38) and Hannah Seymore (59th, 18:27).
The JV boys finished eight, led by Tyler Edmonson’s 27th-place finish. Other runners were Grant Sellers (38th), Dustin Wilson (40th), Jacob Sellers (55th), Cole McKinney (58th) and Collin Wilson (63rd).
Allison Carnahan helped lead the Salado freshmen to a 25-15, 25-21 home win over Taylor on Tuesday.
Megan Manibuson was the top scorer, leading the SHS freshmen to a 25-21, 26-24, 25-21 win over Burnet on Sept. 17.
Anna Pryor led the way as the junior varsity Lady Eagles won 26-24, 26-24.
