Youth baseball players vying for berth in state tourney

The City of Harker Heights Parks and Recreation will host the 2014 Texas Teenage Baseball District Tournament in two divisions from Monday through Friday at Harker Heights Community Park, 1501 East FM 2410.

The 8U Boys Machine Pitch tournament and the 14U Sophomore tournament each will have 10 teams from around the district playing for the opportunity to advance to the state tournament.

The 8U teams are Harker Heights Bees, Harker Heights Iron Birds, Harker Heights Iron Pigs, Harker Heights Timber Rattlers, Belton Rams, Belton Knights, Belton Aces, Belton Orioles, Belton Hooks and Belton Mudcats.

The 14U teams are Harker Heights Tigers, Harker Heights Rangers, Salado Red Sox, Florence Texans, Holland Hornets, Jarrell Cougars, Cameron Reds, Cameron Pirates, Westphalia Gators and Temple Braves.
