After falling into a 2-0 hole, Gatesville (18-13, 8-1 8-3A) responded with a first-inning outburst and never relinquished control as Ashley Cook (3 for 4, 2 runs), Blayne McGhee (2 for 4, 3 RBIs, 2 runs), Shaley Sutton (2 for 3, 4 RBIs, 2 runs) and Lauren Nichols (2 for 3, run) each produced multiple hits, including McGhee’s two-run home run in the fifth inning.
