COPPERAS COVE — Shawnte’ Goff missed the entire first quarter and a majority of the first half due to an illness.
By the end of the third quarter, however, the Belton Lady Tigers were feeling sick. Goff scored all 13 of her points in the third quarter, and the Lady Bulldawgs expanded an eight-point halftime cushion to 23 points, 49-26, by the end of the period before winning 56-32.
After only attempting one shot in the first half, Goff made five of six shots in the third quarter, including three of four 3-pointers.
“She had a tremendous third quarter,” Copperas Cove head coach Teresa Durham said. “Sometimes when you don’t feel real well, that turns out to be one of your best games. She came in and gave us some great minutes and some quality minutes.”
