Harker Heights senior basketball player Roderick Taylor verbally committed to the University of Louisiana-Monroe late Monday.

The 6-foot-7 Taylor announced his decision on his Twitter account. Texashoops.com, a Rivals.com website, ranks Taylor the 57th best player in the state.

Taylor has been a part of the Knights’ varsity team the past two seasons after transferring to the area from Colorado. An occasional starter in the past, he is expected to play an integral role this season for Harker Heights, which returns four starters.
