Hornets win tiebreaker, head to baseball playoffs

GLEN ROSE — The Gatesville Hornets used a six-run second inning to propel them to a 10-4 victory over Brownwood on Friday in the District 8-3A fourth-place tiebreaker, clinching the baseball program’s first playoff berth since 2010.

Seth Martin and Christian George finished with three hits apiece for Gatesville (11-18-1), while teammate Wyatt Crum added two. Crum also earned the victory on the mound, striking out three batters.
