WACO - Before Sean McBryde shipped off to West Point, the Ellison graduate gave one final salute to Central Texas.

The Eagles' free safety also made a confession to his teammates Saturday: he did not like Belton receiver Levi Jordan before this week.

But the two became fast friends working toward the same goal.

Jordan caught a nifty 34-yard touchdown pass and McBryde had an interception and 2-point conversion stop to help the Red team remain perfect in the FCA Super Centex Victory Bowl with its 28-26 win over the Blue team Saturday at Floyd Casey Stadium.

McBryde teamed with regular season rivals Otis Hudson of Shoemaker and Seth Culp of Temple to stop

Blue team running back Daniel Folsom on the potential game-tying conversion attempt and then intercepted Blue quarterback Tyler Horton to secure the Red team's fourth win in as many games in the bowl's history.

"I'm always just 'where's the ball?' And going for ball and then we stopped them and I look up and we're up 28-26," McBryde said.

The Red team trailed 14-7 at halftime, but quarterback, Red team offensive MVP, Keith Reineke led three scoring drives in the third quarter for a 28-14 lead going into the fourth.

The McGregor standout ran for 27 yards to convert a third down before handing off to Jonathan Fredrick for a game-tying 9-yard run with 9:10 left in the third quarter.

Reineke then scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 5-yard run with 2:18 left after a 28-yard completion to Parker Smith on a third-and-14 play and then lateralled to Jacob White who connected with Jordan for the 28-14 lead 10 seconds before the end of the third quarter.

"When I caught it, God blessed me. God blessed my team, everything," Jordan said. "We were pretty hyped (in the third quarter). I talked to them at halftime and I guess that had an effect on them. I said, 'Just make everybody in the stands proud, they came here to watch you.'"

Blue roared back in the fourth, though, behind Horton and its offensive MVP Bradly Krall.
