Lady Grey Wolves fall short in coach's debut

KERRVILLE - Daysha Roberts scored 10 points, but the Shoemaker Lady Grey Wolves couldn't claw back from a first-quarter deficit and dropped their season-opener 43-35 to Kerrville Tivy on Tuesday in Lori Shead's debut as the Lady Grey Wolves' head coach. 

Junior post Hannah Jones scored seven and Ashley Ousley and Cion Hicks each scored five for the Lady Grey Wolves (0-1), who trailed by six after the first quarter.

Shoemaker cut the deficit to 21-18 at halftime, but was outscored 22-17 in the second half. 

The Lady Grey Wolves host McKinney on Friday in the home opener at 7 p.m.
