At Lampasas, senior guard Julie Mize scored a game-high 12 points and helped the Lady Badgers knock off former 25-3A foe Salado with a 10-5 third-quarter effort.

Salado (0-1), in its first year under new coach Diane Konarik, was led by seven points apiece from senior Meredith Ward and junior Taylor Atwood.

Lampasas (1-0) managed to hold off a 6-2 fourth-quarter effort by Salado despite shooting 0-of-5 from the free-throw line for the game.
