Unfortunately for the Lampasas Badgers tennis team it takes more than one win to make state.

Both Badger doubles teams lost in the second round of the Region I-3A tennis tournament Thursday in Lubbock. So, did their lone singles player.

Lance Cofield and Marcus Morua won their first match against Perryton in a close three-set match, but then lost their second match to the finalists, Collin Bumann and Bryson Fowlkes of Abilene Wylie.

On the girls side, Michaela Ellison won her first match against Andrews but was defeated by last years state champion and this years regional champion Delaney Schroeder of Abilene Wylie.

Sami McKenzie and Tara Pergande won their first match against Fabin but lost a close three-set match to the third-ranked team from Andrews.
