LAMPASAS — Senior guard Sarah Latham scored a team-high 10 points in her first action of the season and the Gatesville Lady Hornets won their District 8-3A opener on the road, holding off the Lampasas Lady Badgers 34-33 on Friday.

Latham had missed Gatesville’s entire nonconference slate while recovering from a knee injury. She hit two of the Lady Hornets’ three 3-pointers.
