WICHITA FALLS — The short-handed Lometa Hornets dropped both of their games Friday on the first day of the Fantasy of Lights Tournament.

The Hornets, ranked 17th in Division II-1A, lost 63-52 to Haskell, and 67-47 to Petrolia.

Lometa (2-2) was missing two players who were out of town for the holiday weekend.

Petrolia also took command in the second period, outscoring the Hornets 21-5 for a 39-22 halftime lead.

Ivan Jasso led three Hornets in double figures against Petrolia (2-2), scoring 12 points. Nichols added 11, and freshman Adrain Rivera had 10.

The Hornets return to action this morning at 11:30 against Wichita Falls HEAT.
