At Lorena, Aria Price had seven kills and Gabby Sierra had 10 assists for Shoemaker, but Lorena swept the Lady Grey Wolves in their season opener.

“(I) am glad we played them,” Shoemaker coach Merdith Shaw-Moore said. “I didn’t know that they were regional semifinalists (last year). They were good, but it also gave me a good look at my girls, as well.”

Chelysis Pierce had six blocks and four kills and Maddison Woodard had four kills and a pair of blocks for Shoemaker, which plays in the Austin ISD tournament beginning Thursday.
