At Florence, Austin Adams scored 17 points, Brandon Womac added 13 and the Eagles finished the regular season with a share of first place in District 22-2A.

Salado (25-7, 13-1 22-2A) put the game out of reach with a 24-2 third-quarter blitz after a lackluster first half.

“I went in at halftime and threw stuff and yelled a lot,” joked Salado coach Kenny Mann.

Kyle Heiner and Kase Spears provided the third-quarter spark. Heiner (nine points) hit all of his 3-pointers in the period while Spears provided five points and several steals.

The Eagles will face No. 14 Jarrell, which won its 22-2A finale 68-44 at Rosebud-Lott, in a first-place tiebreaker at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Jarrell.

Matthew Mellette led Florence (5-9 22-2A) with 16 points.
