At Salado, Brandon Womac scored a season-high 27 points and Austin Adams added 23 as District 22-2A co-leading Salado held off a spirited effort by last-place Rogers.

In a dazzling exhibition of shooting, Mason Marinik hit six of Rogers’ 11 3-pointers, but the visiting Eagles, winless in 22-2A, were done in by a second quarter that saw them outscored 29-13, matching the final margin.

“We were in his face and he was like four or five steps past halfcourt just nailing them,” Salado coach Kenny Mann said.

Womac hit four 3-pointers for Salado.

Salado, 24-7 and tied with No. 14 Jarrell at 12-1 in the district, closes the regular season Tuesday in Florence. Jarrell finishes at Rosebud-Lott.
