At Arlington, Temple senior quarterback Zach Allen put on a show, passing for a season-high 372 yards, but the defending Class 5A state champion Dragons proved to be show-stoppers with a shutout victory Friday at Cowboys Stadium.

Carroll (2-1) weathered Allen’s arm by limiting the Wildcats to just 23 rushing yards on 33 carries while Kenny Hill could hardly be contained, rushing for 237 yards on 19 carries and three scores and passing for another 132 yards.

Allen finished 35-of-58, connecting most often with Keith Buhl 10 times for 84 yards, while also finding Chad President seven times for 85 yards.
