BURNET — Lampasas closed out its season outscoring the opposition 27-3 over the final 2½ quarters. But unfortunately, it was too little, too late after host Burnet opened with a 26-0 salvo and held on for a 29-27 win in the season finale Friday at Bulldog Stadium.
The Badgers ran for 365 yards behind 178 rushing on 12 carries and two third-quarter touchdowns by Steven Jazdyk, and pulled within 26-20 after Jazdyk’s second score — a 38-yard touchdowon run. But Lampasas could never pull ahead as Burnet kicker Austin Huff nailed a 19-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter, giving the Bulldogs just enough of a breather to withstand a 2-yard touchdown run by Badgers tailback Robbie Hall.
Hall added 71 rushing yards on 17 carries while quarterback Kleg Kennedy sparked the 27-3 scoring run with a 1-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter.
