How did you start playing basketball?
“My dad introduced me to the game of basketball in a league in Temple and I have been playing ever since.”
The Tigers struggled to win last season. What do you need to do to help your team get over the top?
“It starts on defense. We have our defensive goals we have to meet and I want to make the playoffs in my senior year.”
What helped you have a breakout performance last season?
“My teammates put me in the right spots to do well and I know they depended on me to score, so I just tried to score the best I can.”
You wear goggles when you play. How bad is your vision?
“Bad. Real Bad. I have astigmatism. I can’t wear contacts because they would be super thick.”
Do you ever get ribbed on from the other team about the goggles?
“(Tuesday) night. It was ‘You couldn’t see that last shot because your glasses aren’t clear. Or ‘Super Goggles.’
Do you have any pre-game rituals?
“I pray before every game and be thankful that I am able to play without getting hurt.”
What is the most played song on your iPod right now?
“Lecrae, it is a Christian rapper. ‘Jesus Muzik’ is a pretty tight song.”
How does your religion influence your life right now?
“It helps me on the court. I want to try to be a leader and do it the right way.
What was the last movie you saw and did you enjoy it?
“Batman. ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ That was a good one.”

“I was ranked No.1 in the nation in Bible quizzer.”

“It is just like in basketball. You score so many points in tournaments. Nationals is in Indiana every year.”

“I think it was Galatians 2:20 and I had to answer: ‘I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.’ You have to study a lot.”
