BELTON — At their monthly meeting Monday night, the Belton ISD Board of Trustees approved hiring David President as the next head boys basketball coach.

President most recently served as the athletic director and head basketball coach at Waelder ISD.

Prior to that, President was an assistant coach at Marble Falls.

President attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he was a four-year starter and member of the 2003-2004 Southland Conference championship team, which advanced to the NCAA tournament.

“I’m excited that David is coming to Belton to coach our boys basketball team,” said athletic director Bob Shipley. “He is passionate about preparing student athletes to excel both on and off of the court.”
