ROUND ROCK — The Salado girls placed sixth in Class 2A with 147 points Saturday at the UIL State Cross Country Championships at Old Settlers Park.

Ashley Adams led the Lady Eagles by placing 18th in 12 minutes, 30.71 seconds, followed by Katey Ewton (32nd, 12:46.08).

Salado's boys placed 10th with 211 points, led by Preston Kimbrough (28th, 17:11.53) and Daniel Thoreson (32nd, 17:14.71). 

Florence’s Jose Pena placed 22nd with a time of 17:05.39.

There was one area qualifier in the 3A boys race. Gatesville’s Abate Hennessy placed 12th in 16:39.52.
