Friday Roundup Shoemaker loses two in KISD tourney

The Shoemaker Grey Wolves lost at home to Rockdale 6-5 and Austin 13-3 during the second day of the Killeen ISD Baseball Tournament on Friday. 

Against Rockdale, Raven Sauceda had two hits while Zachary Jacobs had two RBIs. Jose Casillas pitched four innings and had one strikeout.

Against Austin, Broderick Reed had two hits.

The Grey Wolves (5-4) close out the tournament against Lorena today at 12:30 p.m.

ROCKDALE, ACADEMY DOWN ELLISON: The Eagles dropped a 7-6 decision to Rockdale and lost to Academy 8-1 during the second day of the Killeen ISD Tournament.

Ellison (2-7) led Rockdale 5-4 after six innings, but Rockdale came up with three runs in the top of the seventh.

Sam Weston had two RBIs against Rockdale while A.J. Frescatore struck out four batters in seven innings.

Brett Pagel had two hits against Academy.

SOFTBALL

KILLEEN DROPS THREE IN TAYLOR: At Taylor, the Lady Kangaroos lost to Georgetown East View 7-0, Austin Anderson 8-2 and Cameron Yoe 13-0 at the Taylor Tournament.

Taylor Smith had the team’s only hit against East View and was 1 for 1 against Yoe.

Against Anderson, Asia Hill went 1 for 2 with an RBI and a run while Amanda Daniels was 1 for 1 with an RBI.

Holly Crostwaite also went 1 for 1 against Yoe.

KYLE LEHMAN 12, HARKER HEIGHTS 3: At Harker Heights, Sierra Warren struck out four batters in seven innings for Heights.

The Lady Knights get back into District 8-5A play on Tuesday when they host Killeen.
