Alberto Castro drove in two runs on a squeeze bunt and a throwing error to give the Grey Wolves a 5-3 lead in the third inning and Shoemaker won its opening game of the Austin ISD tournament 8-4 over Austin McCallum.

Roberto Delgado struck out four, gave up three hits and allowed a single earned run in six innings on the mound for Shoemaker (7-5). He was also 1 for 2 with an RBI and a sacrifice bunt at the plate.

John Gueits was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs and Raven Sauceda was 3 for 4 with a triple and a two-RBI single.

The Grey Wolves, who play Lockhart today at noon, trailed 3-1 after the first inning but tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Shoemaker scored three in the third beginning with Castro’s bunt and added two more in the fourth.
