At Gatesville, the Hornets used a five-run second inning to take a commanding lead they would not give up.

Gatesville (11-11) sandwiched the outburst with a pair of one-run innings in the first and third before posting four in the bottom of the sixth to earn the run-rule victory.

Megan Chambers went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Blayne McGhee and Riely Latham homered.

Gatesville pitcher Evan Edmiston earned the victory, giving up four hits and striking out four batters.
