Haven Stevenson gave the Copperas Cove girls soccer team a 1-0 lead with a second-half goal off a free kick, but Belton’s Erica Anderson answered a few minutes later with the equalizer in the teams’ 1-1 draw Friday at Bulldawg Stadium.

The draw put a big dent in Belton's chances to catch district leader San Angelo Central for the 8-6A championship.

KILLEEN GIRLS 1, HARKER HEIGHTS 1, TIE: At Harker Heights, Elizabeth Payne scored on a corner kick by Lauren Din for the Lady Roos in their draw with Harker Heights.

SALADO GIRLS 12, CAMERON YOE 0: Tyler Pierce had a hat trick and the Lady Eagles capped a dominant week in District 25-4A with a home rout.

Ashley Voelter and Ashlen LaCanne each scored twice for the Lady Eagles, who scored 24 times this week. They beat Florence 12-1 on Tuesday.

Madison Spradlin, Aubrey Heffner, Lauren Wilson, Allison Carnahan and Madisyn Maddux also scored for Salado (4-0 25-4A).

Wilson spent most of the night in goal for the shutout.

Salado led only 2-0 at halftime after Pierce scored in the 10th and 11 minutes. She completed her hat trick in the 49th to put the Lady Eagles up 5-0.

SALADO BOYS 5, CAMERON YOE 0: At Salado, Costas Loullis scored twice — his sixth and seventh goals of the week — and the Eagles remained perfect in 25-4A play.

Jack Spradlin, Brandon Rodriguez and Luis Chavez also scored for Salado (10-5-1, 3-0 25-4A).

Trey Sheppard and Freeman Vitolas combined for the shutout in goal.

Cove softballers go 2-1 Thursday at Whitney-Grandview tourney

Misi-Kupolo Israel hit a three-run homer and the Copperas Cove softball team went on to beat Mexia 9-5 in their opener at the Whitney-Grandview tournament on Thursday

Nazhoni Wyss doubled for the Lady Dawgs.

Whitney defeated Cove 8-2 in the second game of pool play. Jayda Carter doubled for the Lady Dawgs.

Cove (2-2) capped the day with a 10-9 win over Troy. Madalyn Scribner hit a triple for Cove.

Harker Heights boys roll past Copperas Cove in bowling

The Harker Heights boys bowling team used a balanced attack to take a 15-2 victory over the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs on Tuesday at Hallmark Lanes.

Braden Gaballo topped the scoring for Heights while Cove’s Gavin Stutz led all scorers. Heights led 5-2 after match play before sweeping the team games.

The Knights kept pace with Ellison in the district standings, raising their record to 7-1 while Cove fell to 2-7.

The Lady Knights remained unbeaten (8-0) with a walkover.

ELLISON SWEEPS KILLEEN: The Ellison boys downed the Killeen Kangaroos 15-2 on Monday at Hallmark Lanes.

Michael Gredler and Tajz Boyd-Stoute averaged 224 and 207, respectively, to lead the Eagles. Ellison (8-1) swept the match play for a 7-0 lead, but Killeen won the first team game. The Eagles then swept the final three games.

Killeen (2-6) who was led by Hunter Wood.

The Lady Eagles made it a sweep with a 17-0 shutout. Katherine Shotwell led Ellison (7-2) in scoring while Alix Lucio topped Killeen (2-6).

Reavis scores four times in Salado win Tuesday

Hannah Reavis scored four times and the Salado Lady Eagles defeated Florence 12-1 on Tuesday.

Madison Spradlin added two goals for Salado (3-0 25-4A). Ashley Voelter, Aubrey Heffner, Tyler Pierce, Allison Carnahan, Grace Graham and Lauren Wilson also scored.

Carnahan also had three assists.
