Temple golfer William Paysse shot a second straight round of 71 Wednesday to remain tied for third after the second round of the 18th Byron Nelson Junior Championship at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas.

Paysse just completed his junior year at Belton High School and earlier this month won a qualifier for next month’s U.S. Junior Amateur.

Thirty-three players in the 78-player field made the cut and will tee off in today’s final round beginning at 8 a.m.

Paysse trails tourney leader Luke Dossey of Austin, a 2019 Baylor commit, by two shots. Madisonville’s Sam Bennett moved up to second at 141 after shooting the low round of the day, a 4-under 67.

Paysse’s Belton teammates Trent Tepera and Logan Hoelscher missed the cut.

More than 25 college coaches from across the nation were taking in the action Wednesday.
