Salado’s Costas Loullis recorded a hat trick in the Eagles’ 7-0 win at Cameron Yoe on Tuesday.

Salado’s win, combined with Jarrell’s victory over Academy, clinched the District 25-4A championship for the Eagles (14-5-1, 7-0 25-4A). It's the third district title in the program's seven-year history.

Kaden Smien, Brandon Rodriguez, Armando Castillo and David Chavez also scored for Salado.

Smien also had two assists.

Trey Sheppard and Freeman Vitolas combined for the shutout in goal.

ELLISON BOYS 6, KILLEEN 0: At Buckley Stadium, Ethan Buchanan scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Eagles to a victory.

Frank Chiribel, Raffael Ross, Idris Alli and Justin Rolle also scored for Ellison (7-11-2, 5-6-2 8-6A).

Buchanan opened the scoring with 15 minutes and 20 seconds remaining in the first half. Ellison scored four times in the second half.

Frank Evans and Sam Morrall earned the shutout in goal. Evans played the first 60 minutes.

HARKER HEIGHTS BOYS 2, COPPERAS COVE 1: At Harker Heights, Abdullah Irfan and Jaime Vargas scored in the Knights' victory.

Heights (5-7-1 8-6A) closes the season Friday at Shoemaker.

James Ross scored on a penalty kick for the Bulldawgs (0-11-2) after Caden Chapman was fouled in the box.

BELTON BOYS 2, SAN ANGELO CENTRAL 1: At Belton, Camryn Gilmore scored twice and the Tigers handed the champion Bobcats their first loss in District 8-6A.

Central (12-1 8-6A) played most of the game short-handed after Gage Smith was sent off with a red card.

Despite that setback, the Bobcats managed to tie the game at 1 in the second half before Gilmore scored the go-ahead goal on a penalty kick.

Belton (13-2-5, 10-1-2 8-6A) closes the regular season Friday at Ellison.


COPPERAS COVE 6, SALADO 4: Cameron Johnson pitched six innings of four-hit ball and struck out 10 and the Bulldawgs remained unbeaten with a road win over the perennial 4A power Eagles.

Josh Ropple struck out one batter and earned the save for the Bulldawgs (10-0-1), who travel to the Central Texas Invitational this weekend for games in Bastrop and Hutto.

Michael Goudeau was 2 for 4 with an RBI double, Brian Hodges went 2 for 3 with double and RBI and Jaylen Smith and Justin Velesky had RBI singles.


SALADO 5, CAMERON YOE 0: Ashley Voelter scored twice for the Lady Eagles. Aubrey Heffner, Reagan Morreale and Rylie Stewart also scored for Salado.

Allison Carnahan, Ashlen LaCanne, Hannah Reavis, Madisyn Maddux and Reilly Stewart each had assists.

The Lady Eagles finish their District 25-4A slate Friday at Academy.

ELLISON 1, KILLEEN 1, TIE: At Ellison, Jalyn Davis scored the equalizer with 21 minutes remaining and the Lady Roos salvaged a draw.

SAN ANGELO CENTRAL 2, BELTON 2, TIE: The Lady Cats rallied with two goals in the second half for a draw that clinched the district championship.

Abby Cargile and Tiarra Hodges scored first-half goals for Belton (13-6-3, 9-2-2 8-6A).


SHOEMAKER 4, ELLISON 3: Makayla Scoggin was 3 for 3 and the Lady Wolves scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a wild pitch.

Scoggin doubled, scored and drove in a run for Shoemaker (2-0 8-6A).

Maddie Martinez pitched a complete-game four-hitter to earn the win. She struck out 10. Martinez also doubled for one of Shoemaker's five hits.

Both teams scored a run in the first and two in the third.

Kyla Kronen was 1 for 3 and scored two of Ellison runs. She also went the distance in the circle.

Tiara Rodriguez doubled, drove in a run and scored for the Lady Eagles, who fell to 0-2 in 8-6A play.
