What first got you into playing basketball?
“I think I was like 4th grade or 5th grade, and my dad was just watching basketball one day, and I was watching on the TV and just decided it was something I wanted to do. Since then, it’s been something I’ve been playing organized.”
If you could make a dream team of anyone to play with, past or present players, who would be be your starting four with you?
“Oh, it would have to be LeBron, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe.”
Do you have any hobbies outside of basketball that people don’t know about?
“I listen to a lot of music. Really, that’s about it.”
Any particular song to get you pumped up for a game?
“Not really, I listen to all types of music.”
Any story or reason behind your jersey number?
“My dad wore that number when we was little so, ever since I was little I started wearing No. 5, so I just stuck with it.”
Is there any particular player you admire or inpires you in the way you play?
“I really like Russell Westbrook. Just because the way he plays, and he never gives up on anything. Even if his team is losing, he’ll still have that drive about him where he’ll go at anybody, no matter who it is.”
What has playing basketball for Copperas Cove meant to you?
“It means a lot to me, personally. I feel like, even though we didn’t do the things we wanted to do since the season started — you know, since our freshman year, we’ve been saying, ‘Senior year, we’re going to do all this stuff and make state,’ but I feel like it’s not a disappointment at all.
We definitely could have done better, but overall, I’ve enjoyed my four years here, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
