Laurence Bryant led Ellison with 11 points and the Eagles clinched a share of the District 8-6A championship with a 67-53 win Tuesday in their regular-season finale at San Angelo Central.

D’marcus Leach added 10 points for Ellison (30-4, 12-2 8-6A). Shamir Bogues scored nine and Chandler Sutton eight.

Ellison shares the league title with Waco Midway, which defeated Copperas Cove 64-55 on Tuesday.

LAMPASAS 56, SALADO 41: Austin Martin scored 14 points and the playoff-bound Badgers continued their late-season surge with a victory on the road.

Lampasas (24-9, 8-4 19-4A) had already locked up the No. 3 playoff seed and had little to play for except continuing their momentum heading into its third consecutive postseason.

Salado, on the other hand, needed a win to at least clinch a tie for the No. 4 spot. The loss, combined with Leander Glenn's victory, ended the Eagles' season.

Anthony Young led Salado (5-7 19-4A) with 14 points. He was the only Eagle in double figures.

Martin and Kolbe Penick (11 points) each made three 3-pointers for Lampasas.

The Badgers won seven of their last eight after a 1-3 start in league play. It's only the second time in school history Lampasas has gone to the playoffs in three straight seasons. The Badgers also did it from 1990-92.
