Kadarius Green scored 17 points and the Ellison boys basketball team opened the season by routing 5A-No. 23 Pflugerville Connally 71-45 on Friday at Ellison.

Green made four of Ellison’s five 3-pointers.

Casey Armour added 11 points for the Eagles. Avonte Bell had nine.

Ellison took a 15-5 lead after one quarter and led 33-14 at halftime.

Salado girls rout Bruceville-Eddy 67-26

Katelyn Seymour scored 16 points, and Kayla Manning added 14 as the Salado girls basketball team routed Bruceville-Eddy 67-26 on the road Friday.

Seymour was 7-of-8 from the field as the Lady Eagles (2-0) dominated in the paint, outscoring Bruceville-Eddy 44-14.

Bruceville-Eddy was shut out in the opening quarter and trailed 13-0. Salado led 36-9 at halftime.

Kaia Philen (nine points) recorded five of Salado’s 16 steals. The Lady Eagles forced 51 turnovers and converted them into 35 points.
