Jenna Calder was 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Rebecca Dockray tossed a five-hit shutout as No. 12 Salado routed Leander Glenn 10-0 on Friday in Leander.

Salado opened the game with four runs and added five in the fifth.

Marissa Gonzalez was 3 for 4 and scored twice for the Lady Eagles. Dockray, Piper Randolph and Christin Wilson also had two hits.

Dockray struck out five and walked two.

NO. 16 FLORENCE 3, JOHNSON CITY 2: At Florence, three days after their 34-game district winning streak came to an end, the 16th-ranked Lady Buffaloes began work on another.

Emily Gray was 2 for 3 with an RBI double and struck out 13 batters to lead the Lady Buffs to a victory.

Both teams scored a run in the first inning.

Bailey Owens (2 for 2) drove in the go-ahead run with a third-inning single after Madi Hill’s leadoff double.

Florence (11-6-1, 8-1 25-3A) added an insurance run in the fifth when Gray drove in Lexi Solis with a hit.

Hollie Ellis also had a run-scoring hit.

Johnson City fell to 4-4 in league play.

The Lady Buffs are off until Good Friday, when they travel to Georgetown Gateway for a noon start.
