Luke Howard never envisioned this.

When the former Gatesville player returned to his hometown earlier in the summer after accepting a position as assistant head coach and special teams coordinator, he intended to use longtime Hornets head coach Kyle Cooper as a mentor, absorbing all the knowledge possible.
