Shianne Johnson scored 23 points, Alexis Scharkley made several huge defensive plays and the Killeen High girls basketball team downed Class 5A-No. 14 Dripping Springs 58-54 on the road Tuesday night.
Scharkley added 11 points and forced five turnovers to go with three steals for the Lady Roos (5-4), who bounced back from a pair of losses last week that knocked them out of the Class 6A rankings.
Both teams struggled at the foul line. Killeen was 2-of-6, while Dripping Springs (8-2) went 12-for-28.
Cassie Louthan led three Dripping Springs players in double figures with 16 points.
SALADO 31, HOLLAND 26: At Salado, Sarah Kate Kelarek, Taylor Lowrance and Kerrigan Hearne each scored eight points and the Lady Eagles pulled away late for the win.
Salado scored just six points in the first half and trailed 13-6, but outscored Holland 17-8 in the final period to surge ahead.
