At Johnson City, the 1A-No. 24-ranked Lometa Hornets suffered a 64-52 loss to Johnson City on Saturday.
For Lometa, Adrian Rivera scored 20 points, Kyle Molter 12, Ivan Jasso 10 and Carlos Perez and Reid Moore each scored three points.
Lometa trailed 32-26 at halftime and 53-33 heading into the fourth quarter.
“This was probably the best team we’ve played all year,” said Lometa head coach Aaron Nuckles. “It’s a bigger school (2A) and we ran into some trouble in the third quarter, giving up too many points and not putting up enough.
“But this is not a bad loss because we were playing such a good team. I was especially pleased with the play of Adrian Rivera and Kyle Molter.”
