THORNDALE — Led by Preston Kimbrough and Katey Ewton, the Salado boys and girls cross country teams swept the Run at Apache Pass meet Saturday hosted by Thorndale High School.

Kimbrough finished second in the boys meet with a time of 17 minutes, 10 seconds. The Eagles placed eight runners in the top 15 and tallied 28 points with their top five placers. Waco Live Oak Classical was second with 52 points.

Other runners contributing to Salado’s score were Peyton Kyburz (fifth overall, 18:35.5), Austyn Giacomozzi (sixth, 18:46.4), Wade Woods (ninth, 19:02.7) and Manuel Magadan (10th, 19:14.3).

Ewton was third in the girls race (11:51.1). The Lady Eagles placed six in the top 15.

Also contributing to the Lady Eagles’ winning score of 33 points were Katie Kendell (fifth, 12:03.7), Rebecca Gonzales (eighth, 12:16.5), China Saxton (12th, 12:28.7) and Ariana Rangel (13th, 12:29.6).

Salado’s girls finished 10 points ahead of runner-up Rogers.
