At Taylor, after winning five consecutive games following the late additions of several football players to complete its roster, Gatesville (7-11 overall) suffered its second straight loss, falling at Taylor in its next-to-last nondistrict game.

Tobias Moore produced a team-high 16 points to go with 11 rebounds and four assists, and teammate Danny Byrd recorded a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds), but Taylor outscored Gatesville 18-13 in the third quarter to overcome a 20-19 halftime deficit.
