Lexi Smith was almost perfect as the Tem-Cats kept pace with Bryan and A&M Consolidated in the race for the district title.

Smith pitched her second consecutive no-hitter, this time shutting down the Lady Knights. Sarah Truelove smacked two doubles and drove in two runs to aid in the Temple (15-6, 11-2 12-5A).

Smith, who only walked one Lady Knight batter, pitched a no-hitter last Friday against Copperas Cove.

Bryan 19, Harker Heights 3 - At Harker Heights, Erica Russell and Hannah Parker both hit home runs as the Lady Vikings run-rule the host Lady Knights.

Parker drove in four runs for Bryan (23-4, 10-2 12-5A in the win). Ashley Olson and Courtney Luedecking each had RBI singles for Harker Heights (5-16, 2-10).

BASEBALL

Bryan 11, Harker Heights 0, 5 inn. - At Bryan, Travis Gibson pitched five innings of no-hit baseball as the Knights' continued to struggle and were eliminated from the playoffs. Zac Slaydon and Matt Muniz both drove in two runs for Bryan.

Ellison 7, Harker Heights 0 - At Ellison, Ellison has struggled all season. But, for Harker Heights, the struggles are new.

And they are not stopping. Ellison senior Tyler Bark pitched a complete-game shutout, only giving up four hits and two walks, while striking out three to lead the Eagles past the slumping Knights 7-0 on Friday at Harker Heights.

Ellison (3-23, 2-10 12-5A) was led at the plate by Felix Marbury, who was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Sam Weston also added two hits and two RBIs for the Ellison in the upset over Harker Heights (11-9-1, 5-6).
