The Bulldawg track team continues its dominance, as Cove nearly doubled second-place Cedar Park on Saturday to claim the championship at the Pflugerville Connally Cougar Relays.

Cove finished with 196 points, with Cedar Park picking up 99 in the runner-up showing.

The Dawgs picked up nine first-place finishes: William Randolph (100-meter), Mark Branch (110 and 300 hurdles), Orlando Thomas (long jump), Lavonte Wright (Discus), John Horton (triple jump), Cory Scott (high jump) and the 400 and 800 relay

Second-place finishers were: Thomas (110 hurdles), Horton (long jump), Matt Hall (triple jump) and Jason Hope (high jump).

The Lady Dawgs finished second at the Cougar Relays, totalling 146 points to place behind Cedar Park (191).

Cove picked up five first-place finishes, including wins from all three relays (400, 800 and 1,600). Also winning were Tiaira West (200) and Brittney Johnson (high jump).

Second-place finishers were: Alex Chace (100) and Traonna Shedrick (long jump).

Softball drops pair

A&M Consolidated 9, Copperas Cove 1 (Tuesday) - At Copperas Cove, the Lady Bulldawgs finished with eight hits, but couldn't string enough together, falling to the Tigers and dropping their District 12-5A record to 1-3.

Ashley Hartwell finished 3-for-4 with a double for Cove (10-10), while Irene Espinoza went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the sixth inning. A&M Consolidated (12-8, 3-1) jumped out to a 6-0 by the second inning.

Bryan 14, Copperas Cove 1 (Monday) - At Copperas Cove, Brianna Sinclair drove in a run in the seventh inning but the Lady Bulldawgs gave up six runs in the top of the inning to end the game.

Soccer falls to Consol.

A&M Consolidated 4, Bulldawgs 0 (last Friday) - At Copperas Cove, the Dawgs lost at home, falling to 3-11-0 on the year and 2-10 in District 12-5A play.

A&M Consolidated 2, Lady Bulldawgs 0 (last Friday) - At College Station, the Lady Dawgs' win streak ends at two games, as they fall to 10-9-2 on the year and 4-6-2 in District 12-5A play.
