TROY — A little speed, a lot of power and a dominating defense.

That was the perfect formula for the Troy Trojans on Friday night.

Bruising running back Coby Herring scored on runs of 44, 34 and 19 yards and speedy back Jake Schmidt added a 76-yard touchdown as the Trojans dominated the Florence Buffaloes (1-4, 1-3) on homecoming at Trojan Field.

The 48-6 win keeps the Trojans (4-1, 2-0) in a tie for the district lead along with Cameron Yoe, Salado and McGregor,

“I’m proud of the way our guys came out and ran the ball,” Troy coach Jay Seibert said. “I thought the guys came out and executed well.”
