The Shoemaker Lady Grey Wolves took third place in the Silver Bracket on Saturday at the Robinson tournament after defeating Athens 25-18, 25-20.

Aria Price had 11 kills and Anissa Pitts had 14 digs to lead Shoemaker (13-10). Trinity Pearson led with 16 points served.

The Lady Grey Wolves started the day with wins over Hillsboro (25-15, 25-13) and Little River-Academy (20-25, 25-18, 25-19). However, they lost in the semifinals to Waco University 25-19, 25-21.

“We played well in spurts,” Shoemaker coach Merdith Shaw-Moore said. “We are at a place now where I can see growth and improvement. I told the girls earlier that success is not a destination, it is a journey.”
