Tyrone Williams scored a team-high 11 points to help the Shoemaker Grey Wolves beat Belton 84-35 at home on Friday.
The win helps Shoemaker (19-6, 9-2) stay in at least a first-place tie with Harker Heights, which played at Waco Midway on Friday.
Braden Hammond led all scorers with 18 points for Belton (5-20, 1-10).
Deondre Hopkins and Nahome Anderson scored 10 points apiece for Shoemaker.
The Grey Wolves look for their 10th straight district win on Tuesday when they host the Ellison Eagles.
NO. 19 LOMETA 64, EVANT 24: At Evant, Pedro De Luna scored a game-high 20 points as No. 19 Lometa cruised past Evant.
Ivan Jasso added 10 points as Lometa (19-9, 9-0 28-1A, Div. II) jumped out to a 15-1 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
Lometa wraps up its regular season on Tuesday when it hosts Oglesby.
NO. 18 SALADO 49, LITTLE RIVER-ACADEMY 30: At Little River-Academy, Preston Rosebrock scored a game-high 12 points to help No. 18 Salado beat Academy.
The win puts the Eagles (23-5, 11-0) in a position to clinch the District 22-2A title if they win one of the next three games. Currently, Salado can do no worse than second in the district.
Dane Hankamer added 10 points for Salado.
GATESVILLE 53, BROWNWOOD 34: At Gatesville, the Hornets erased an early 13-point deficit to cruise to a 19-point victory.
The win improves Gatesville’s overall record to 13-12 while giving it a 2-5 mark in District 8-3A heading into Tuesday’s game at Liberty Hill.
NO. 24 LIBERTY HILL 58, LAMPASAS 27: At Lampasas, Ashlee Walker scored 15 points and Shelby Whitten added 13 to lead 24th-ranked Liberty Hill to a road victory.
The Lady Panthers took command right away with a 15-2 first quarter.
Alexis Lewis led Lampasas with nine points.
NO. 25 BROWNWOOD 70, GATESVILLE 37: At Gatesville, the Lady Hornets were outscored 59-24 over the final three quarters and lost their final home game of the regular season.
Kayla McGiboney led Gatesville in scoring with 10 points.
The Lady Hornets (12-14, 4-5 District 8-3A) travel to face No. 24 Liberty Hill on Tuesday before opening their first playoff run since 2012.
BELTON 42, SHOEMAKER 41: At Belton, Jonnette Jackson scored 12 points, but the Shoemaker Lady Grey Wolves dropped a close one 42-41 to the Belton Lady Tigers on Friday.
Shoemaker outscored Belton 17-10 in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t come away with the win.
COPPERAS COVE 4, KILLEEN 1: Makalya Campanella scored a goal in Killeen’s loss to Copperas Cove at Leo Buckley Stadium.
Angelina Arreaga assisted on the goal that cut Cove’s lead to 3-1. Cove improved to 1-1 in district.
The Lady Roos (1-5-2, 0-2) look for their first district win of the season on Tuesday when they host Harker Heights.
TEMPLE 7, SHOEMAKER 0: Bailey Carlson had her second hat trick in as many games, Hannah Wiley added a pair of goals and Cristal Narvaez had a goal and two assists as the Tem-Cats shut out Shoemaker 7-0 on Friday night at Woodson Field.
BELTON 3, HARKER HEIGHTS 1: At Belton, Belton came back from an early 1-0 deficit to with 3-1 on Friday at Wilson-Kerzee Field.
The Knights (3-6-1, 1-1) were on the attack early and took advantage of four corner kicks in the first 10 minutes to keep up the pressure.
Harker Heights found the net with 33:55 left in the half when Johnathan Madera knocked in a goal from close range after a corner kick.
The Knights’ lead lasted for more than 20 minutes, but they lost their pressure after Dimitri Gianopulos left the game with an injury and Belton (3-4-1, 1-1) steadily wore them down.
