KPD searching for robbery suspect

Killeen police are searching for a man suspected in a robbery at Big Zack's Tire Shack that occurred Monday.

Officers were notified of the incident at the tire store, located in the 1100 block of West Jasper Road, police reported Wednesday night.

A store representative told officers that a customer came into the store and requested new rims and tires to be mounted on his vehicle.  The employees mounted black & chrome Gila 22 inch rims valued at $216 each and Delente tires valued at $150 each, totaling $1,500. 

After the rims and tires were mounted, the customer entered his vehicle and drove away without paying for the merchandise. 

The suspect in this theft is described as a heavyset black male who is approximately 5’7” tall; he was last seen wearing a red tee shirt and dark colored pants. His vehicle is described as a late 1990’s model Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercury Marquis style vehicle.
