NBC’s “Revolution” is looking for residents with military and law enforcement experience to play extras for episodes of its second season.

“Revolution” is a science-fiction show about a worldwide blackout. While the first season was filmed in North Carolina, filming for the upcoming season started July 5 in the east Bell County town of Bartlett and is expected to last until the end of April.

The casting call for extras welcomes people of all ages and types, but producers are specifically looking for men and women with military and law enforcement experience, according to a news release from On Location Casting, an Austin-based agency.

Wyatt Thomas Wessels, a Belton High School sophomore, said most of his acting experience comes from on-stage productions at Temple Civic Theatre.

Although Wessels does not have military experience, he is excited about the possibility of starting as an extra in the series.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity to prove myself as a good experienced actor. I am excited to learn the ropes of film acting,” Wessels said. “Acting is my lifelong dream; nothing is going to hold me back from trying to achieve it.”

According to On Location Casting, no experience is necessary to work as an extra, although some experience is required for featured nonspeaking roles.

Filming takes place Monday through Friday and extras generally average about 12 hours a day. All roles are paid at a rate of $8 per hour, with time and a half for overtime.
