Book lovers who enjoy reading about interstellar military conflicts, future technologies and future soldiers might want to check out the Copperas Cove Library as it recognizes Military Science Fiction Week.

“Some of the best military science fiction of the past and present will be on display in the entrance of the library,” Library Director Kevin Marsh said.

Special events start Monday with a trivia contest and the chance to register for a prize drawing. Both forms are available at the circulation desk.

Marsh said the trivia contest is “classified and top secret” but did reveal that contestants can use the Internet and other materials to find answers.

The winner of the contest will be announced at the library Aug. 30. The prize winner will be drawn then, too.

A military science fiction author discussion is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the library meeting room. Some of the authors to be discussed are David Drake, John Ringo, Dave Weber, Eric Flint, Orson Scott Card and Elizabeth Moon.

Pizza and soft drinks will be provided, courtesy of Domino’s and Friends of the Library.

The library is at 501 S. Main St., Copperas Cove. Call 254-547-3826.
