COPPERAS COVE — Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful’s Eco Harvest will educate residents about sustainable living practices Saturday at the Cove Civic Center.

“We want people in the community to come out and learn about sustainability,” said Silvia Rhoads, KCCB executive director.

Eco Harvest brings a variety of groups to share information about environmentally friendly living practices such as recycling, composting, water pollution and energy conservation.

Participating this year are Stillhouse Clean Water Association, KCCB, Wilco Recycling, the CenTex Sustainability Partnership, Killeen Geographic Information System and Zoomagination and more, a news release stated.

Zoomagination brings a number animals to discuss their habitats and how people are affecting them, Rhoads said.

CenTex Sustainability Partnership will put on two workshops throughout the day geared toward making residential homes more energy efficient, she said.

Central Texas College’s Entacus club, a group of students aspiring to be business leaders, will talk about Operation Liquid, which recycles cooking oil.

To help entice people to the festival, Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful will provide a pancake breakfast for attendees, Rhoads said.
