Dora's Pirate Adventure

For a piratical prequel to “Dora’s Pirate Adventure,” Vive Les Arts Theatre in Killeen is hosting Dora’s Pirate Party from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the theater. Admission is $10 per person.

“The cast will be in costume and character,” director Hayley Dugger said, “and it’s a great opportunity to meet and greet our actors.”

Partygoers are encouraged to take photos, get autographs and learn more about the show, as well as get information about the nonprofit’s future children’s productions. “Dora” takes the stage May 9-11 and May 16-18, with special shows Tuesday and Wednesday for school groups.

Crafts, games, face painting and a “simulated photo booth” are among the festivities Saturday. Parents will want to bring cameras to take advantage of the fully-propped photo-op theatrical backdrop.

And for the piece de resistance, Dugger, her cast and crew have pulled out all the stops: “We’ll be serving our guests a rare specialty — pirate grog.”
